Smiling Task 03:51
Maybe you met me in some dark place you were in, on some night you scarcely can bear to recall. Some say I'm no more real than a handshake deal. But I know you know me. So come on. Let's quit the charade. You need a facelift. You need a therapist. You need a different point of view. Then comes the breakdown– it happens every time. First comes the crying, then the pleading and denying. What are you trying to hide? You think no one sees? You need a facelift. You need a therapist. You need a different point of view. Stuck on the smiling task.

(lyrics+music: modulations) Standing on shaky ground. This old world is going down. The world today is in so many pieces. People looking all around for something to believe in. we're hung up on the knowledge of war. Most of us have never seen it. How sweet it would be to wake up in the morning and find it was all a dream. We got to seek a solution. Devil gonna get you and you better watch out.

The Key 05:25
Late night, cell block. Lights out, no one ever talks. Locked in a box of your own devising, kept in check fantasizing. I'm right in plain sight. I want you to notice me. And I know that it must get lonely. The cop at the top is rarely ever seen. And though you won't confess the crime, you still get the sentence and you still do the time. I'm right in plain sight. I want you to notice me. I'm the key. And I'm lying at your feet. Notice me.

Left Behind 03:30
Certain people shouldn't be allowed to drive. The world is too complex for human ears and eyes. To solve the problem there ought to be an app. But our brains don't work like that. Future time, borrowed time. Blink and you're left behind. In the future the cars will drive themselves. Instead of shopping we will ourselves be on the shelves. Did you read the conditions? Or did you just check the box? That says progress never stops. The past is a casket. Pay it no mind. Don't get left behind.
5.
Blessed be the bringer of bread to the hungry child. The well off all agree, blessed be your vow of poverty, as long as it's not me that has to sacrifice. Well go ask Saint Francis, what are the chances of the rich man's entrance through the eye of the needle? 'Cause even Jesus knew the evil that men do is primarily financial. See him in the temple, kicking over money-changers tables. It's no fable: the profit motive is evil.
6.
You're so sad. You ought to know. It gets better. If you're cold, get some socks and a sweater. Don’t neglect your body. Don't neglect your mind. Leave a trail of crumbs to find. We gotta try, try, try to get better.
